Quick answer

Enter a destination URL plus utm_source, utm_medium, and a campaign name or ID to create a tagged link immediately. AppHelp also supports advanced GA4 campaign fields, consistent naming, bulk generation for up to 100 destinations, and reverse inspection of existing URLs.

How to use

  1. 1. Enter the destination URLPaste the complete landing-page URL. Existing query parameters and fragments are retained when UTM parameters are added.
  2. 2. Set source, medium, and campaignUse your naming convention or start from a preset. Keep each value stable across campaigns so analytics reports group traffic correctly.
  3. 3. Add optional campaign detailUse term and content for keyword or creative variants, and open the advanced section for utm_id and additional GA4 fields.
  4. 4. Validate and distributeCopy the live URL, batch-generate a CSV, or inspect the finished link before using it in ads, email, social posts, QR codes, or offline media.

Examples

Newsletter link

Input
source=newsletter, medium=email, campaign=product_update
Output
?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=product_update

Use content to distinguish hero, footer, and text links in the same email.

Paid search

Input
source=google, medium=cpc, campaign=search_brand, term=utm_builder
Output
?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=search_brand&utm_term=utm_builder

Offline QR poster

Input
source=qr, medium=offline, campaign=event_poster
Output
?utm_source=qr&utm_medium=offline&utm_campaign=event_poster

Build the final UTM URL first, then encode that exact URL in the QR code.

Common use cases

  • Tag newsletter, lifecycle, and sales email links
  • Standardize Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and partner campaigns
  • Generate the same campaign tags across many landing pages
  • Inspect inherited links before relaunching a campaign
  • Track QR codes, printed material, events, and offline placements

Edge cases

  • UTM names are case-sensitive in reporting, so Newsletter and newsletter can split into separate rows.
  • Existing UTM parameters are replaced while unrelated query parameters and fragments are preserved.
  • Spaces are URL-encoded; normalization can replace them with hyphens or underscores before encoding.
  • A campaign name or utm_id should accompany source and medium for useful attribution.
  • Link shorteners and redirect services must preserve the final query string.

Features

  • Live campaign URL generation that preserves queries and fragments
  • Single-link, bulk-link, and reverse-inspection workflows
  • Classic UTM fields plus GA4 source platform, creative format, and marketing tactic
  • Newsletter, paid search, social, and offline naming presets
  • Lowercase and space-normalization controls for consistent analytics dimensions
  • Copy query strings or URLs and export batch results as CSV

Frequently asked questions

Which UTM parameters are required?
Use utm_source and utm_medium plus either utm_campaign or utm_id. Term and content are optional detail fields.
Does the builder preserve existing query parameters and fragments?
Yes. It replaces existing UTM keys but keeps unrelated query parameters and the #fragment.
Can I generate many campaign links at once?
Yes. The bulk tab applies the current UTM fields to up to 100 destination URLs and exports a CSV.
What do utm_source_platform, utm_creative_format, and utm_marketing_tactic do?
They provide additional manual-campaign dimensions supported by GA4 for platform, creative format, and campaign tactic.
Should UTM values use spaces, hyphens, or underscores?
Any encoded value can work, but one documented convention prevents campaign dimensions from fragmenting. This tool can lowercase values and normalize spaces.
Are my campaign URLs uploaded?
No. Building, batching, inspection, copying, and CSV generation all happen in your browser.
